ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS

Madison Security Solutions can provide the following types of Access Control Systems

  • Coded entry

A code number is entered via a keypad to gain access to a protected area. The code numbers can be between four and six digits in length. We recommend that the code numbers be changed on a regular basis.

Code entry systems would normally be used in low security applications i.e. internal doors.

  • Swipe card

Each member of staff would be issued a card, about the same size as a credit card,  this is encoded with a unique identification number. Entry to the premises is gained via presenting the card to a reader. The readers can either be swipe - where the card is inserted, or proximity -where the card is held near the reader.

Swipe card readers would normally be used in low to medium security applications i.e. internal doors or those protected by other means (Intruder alarm system)

  • Biometric - Fingerprint and Iris recognition

Fingerprint systems store each staff members details. To gain entry the user would present their finger tip for scanning,  this information is checked against previously stored data for verification.

As each person has a unique fingerprint this type of system would normally be used in medium to high security applications i.e. Doors protected by other means (intruder alarm system) or external doors.

Iris recognition systems use the unique identification of the eye to provide a very secure method of entry control. The user would require their eye to be scanned prior to gaining entry.

This type of system would be used in high security applications i.e. main entrance doors to restricted or secure areas.
